Job Summary:

The Lutheran Senior Services is seeking a skilled Regional Dietitian to join our team. As a Regional Dietitian, you will be responsible for supervising the clinical responsibilities of the dining services department for assigned communities. Your primary focus will be on assessment and achievement of defined nutritional goals and residents' nutritional needs. You will collaborate with members of the community care teams to provide nutrition therapy for all residents at each community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate the clinical nutrition components of the Dining Services Department, its programs, and activities.
  • Collaborate with the health care team to provide medical nutrition therapy to residents in assigned communities.
  • Identify residents at high nutrition risk and evaluate the effectiveness of medical nutrition therapy interventions.
  • Provide nutritional education to residents and family members on appropriate food selections and eating behaviors.
  • Assess nutrition needs and identify nutrient requirements according to age and disease-specific needs of residents.
  • Ensure that all clinical processes are completed in a timely, accurate, and according to present standards of practice.
  • Supervise the clinical responsibilities of the CDM and ensure that all clinical nutritional personnel follow established departmental policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary environment in the dining serving areas.
  • Participate in inspections made by authorized government agencies and monitor temperature logs on food and refrigeration on all serving units for compliance.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Foods and Nutrition, and completion of an Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics-approved internship or equivalent.
  • Current membership in the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and current licensure in Missouri and Illinois.
  • Two years of experience in supervisory capacity in a hospital, skilled nursing care facility, or other related health care facility.
