Role Overview:
The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in cloud technologies and big data solutions, ideally in a leadership capacity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Guidance: Provide leadership and mentorship to a team of engineers, ensuring adherence to best practices and effective technical solutions.
- Data Architecture: Design and implement robust big data frameworks utilizing technologies such as Apache Spark and Apache Hadoop to fulfill organizational requirements.
- AWS Utilization: Employ AWS services to construct, deploy, and oversee scalable and dependable data solutions, including but not limited to Amazon EMR, AWS Glue, and Amazon Redshift.
- Software Development: Write and maintain high-quality code in Java or Scala for data processing, analytics, and application integration.
- Container Management: Oversee the deployment and management of containerized applications using Kubernetes, ensuring optimal performance and scalability.
Qualifications:
- Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline is required. Advanced degrees or relevant certifications are advantageous.
- Professional Experience: A minimum of 10 years in big data technologies and cloud computing, with at least 3 years in a leadership or senior role.
- Big Data Proficiency: Strong knowledge of Apache Spark and Apache Hadoop.
- AWS Proficiency: Practical experience with AWS cloud services, particularly those pertinent to big data and analytics.
- Programming Skills: Proficient in Java and/or Scala.
- Kubernetes Expertise: Familiarity with Kubernetes for managing container orchestration.
- Analytical Skills: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.
- Communication Skills: Strong communication skills, capable of conveying technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
