Position Overview

As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for the preparation and evaluation of quarterly and annual financial reports related to energy initiatives. Your analytical skills will be essential in assessing reporting discrepancies and ensuring accuracy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Statement Preparation: Compile and assess financial statements for energy projects on a quarterly and annual basis.
  • Variance Analysis: Conduct thorough analytics to identify and explain reporting variances.
  • Audit Collaboration: Partner with external auditors during the year-end audit process.
  • Financial Information Analysis: Gather and analyze financial data to support decision-making.
  • Impairment Calculations: Assist in the assessment of impairments and other accounting matters.
  • Reporting Coordination: Manage reporting requirements for external stakeholders.
  • Schedule Creation: Develop schedules and reports utilizing Excel and other analytical tools.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement enhancements within the accounting department.
  • Technical Research: Investigate and resolve technical accounting issues as they arise.
Qualifications
  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related discipline.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years in an accounting role.
  • GAAP Knowledge: Familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification: CPA designation is preferred.
  • Industry Experience: Background in multi-entity organizations or public accounting firms.
  • Deadline Management: Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail.
  • Software Experience: Familiarity with Workiva/Wdesk or Oracle Fusion is a plus.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
