Responsibilities

Position Summary:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate all designated machinery, adhering to and supervising standard work protocols as per departmental SOPs.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing leadership to establish, implement, and enhance standard operating procedures in the area.
  • Conduct training sessions for operators on standard work practices and troubleshooting techniques, assessing the effectiveness of the training.
  • Propose modifications to operating procedures to enhance quality and efficiency.
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives including LPMS, 5S, KATA, and Kaizen events.
  • Diagnose machine or line stoppages, perform repairs, and facilitate the escalation process for additional technical support as necessary.
  • Execute preventive and corrective maintenance tasks during machine downtime, collaborating with operations, mechanics, and engineers as appropriate.
  • Monitor production quality and take corrective actions in accordance with standard work/SOP.
  • Complete necessary documentation including batch records, log books, PM, and DM as required, adhering to good documentation practices.
  • Higher-level operators will perform all functions listed above on multiple pieces of equipment as determined by departmental management.

Expertise: Knowledge & Skills

  • Comprehensive working knowledge of the technical field/area of specialization is required. General application of principles, theories, and concepts is expected, along with the ability to propose actionable solutions.
  • Work is performed under general supervision, with occasional assistance in orienting, training, assigning, and reviewing the work of peers.
  • Some limited judgment may be required in problem resolution.
  • Primary contacts are with department supervisors, leads, subordinates, and peers, with occasional interactions with external contractors/vendors.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. required; an Associate's or technical degree is preferred.
  • 5-8 years of relevant experience OR completion of technical requirements and passing assessment at the appropriate level.
  • Applicable industry/professional certification is preferred.
  • Regular and predictable on-site attendance is required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and communicate effectively. The employee frequently uses hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee may occasionally stand and walk, and must be able to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
