Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Response Team. As a critical care nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
  • Lead and participate in safe nursing care activities, delegating tasks to ancillary personnel as needed.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of patient care and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team, patient, and family to ensure seamless care and discharge planning.
  • Assess and provide teaching based on patient and family needs.
  • Participate in departmental quality improvement and research activities.
  • Utilize all available resources to provide quality, cost-effective patient care.
  • Meet and maintain clinical competencies, including Basic Life Support and ACLS.
  • Identify growth needs and participate in educational opportunities and professional organizations.
  • Serve as a role model and preceptor to new graduate nurses and less experienced personnel.
Requirements
  • Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Rhode Island or a participating state in the Nurse Licensure Compact.
  • Baccalaureate in Nursing preferred.
  • Minimum three years of current clinical experience in critical care nursing, including responding to cardiac arrests and clinical emergencies in a hospital setting.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
  • Visual and aural ability to monitor patient status.
  • Physical ability to assist in lifting and positioning patients.
  • Exposed to patient care environment.
  • Physical ability for extensive walking and standing; lifting, positioning, and pushing patients on stretchers.
Unit Specific Physical Requirements
  • Must have full range of body motion.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and color vision.
  • Must be able to speak and hear clearly.
  • Must have the ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, lean, and squat for long periods of time without hindrance.
  • Must be able to maintain dexterity when pulling, pushing, and gripping carts and stretchers.
  • Must be physically able to perform CPR.
