Job Summary
M1 Support Services is seeking a highly skilled Aircraft Technician to join our team. As an Avionics Specialist, you will be responsible for assisting daily aircraft launch and recovery operations, troubleshooting malfunctions in aircraft avionics and electrical systems, and repairing, replacing, rebuilding, and adjusting aircraft avionics systems, test equipment, and aircraft accessories.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist daily aircraft launch and recovery operations
- Troubleshoot malfunctions in aircraft avionics and electrical systems
- Repair, replace, rebuild, and adjust aircraft avionics systems, test equipment, and aircraft accessories
- Read and interpret manufacturers and aircraft maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components
- Perform periodic and other hourly or calendar inspections as required
- Receive technical guidance from Managers, Supervisors, Leads, or higher-level technicians as required
- May be required to aid writing/initiating engineering technical assistance requests
- May be required to obtain and maintain special certifications as directed by management
- Review and complete forms documentation pertinent to aircraft or equipment maintenance, enter maintenance actions into applicable MIS system, and make entries in forms, logs, records, or electronic equivalent as required
- May be required to pass a color vision test
- Complete all assignments and tasks as directed by managers, supervisors, leads, and more senior technicians
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of 4 years performing as a USAF or sister service fighter aircraft Avionics technician with at least 1 year as an F-16 Avionics technician within the last 10 years required
- Working knowledge of MIS systems, forms documentation, and strict adherence to aircraft technical data is required
- Must be able to obtain and maintain any Special Access Program (SAP) requirements to perform the position
Working Conditions
- High school diploma or GED is required
- Mathematics skills are desirable
- Must speak, read, write, and understand English with the ability to interpret technical data and special operating instructions in the same language
- Must be willing to deploy to support off-station requirements
- Performs housekeeping duties within 100 feet of assigned work areas (excluding bathrooms)
- Performs vehicle use inspections, cleaning, and wash
- Performs any other supportive duties as assigned
- Must be physically capable of performing all assigned duties
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance (or higher, if required)
- Must be able to, if required, obtain, and maintain a government driver's license
- If controlled movement area (CMA) access is required must be able to pass color vision test
- Environment ranges from office, hangar, and flightline and requires extensive climbing, standing, stooping, bending, pushing, kneeling, stretching, and walking demands
- May be required to work in other work sections throughout the contract
