Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Captain to lead our Security Team at SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our guests, employees, and assets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Security Team: Supervise and manage the daily operations of the Security Team, including special events and incidents.
  • Provide Supervisory Coverage: Ensure consistent supervisory coverage in rotation with the leadership team.
  • Develop and Implement Security Training: Design and deliver comprehensive security training programs for the Security Team.
  • Ensure Compliance: Ensure all Security Team members adhere to park policies and procedures, including safety protocols and incident management.
  • Review and Evaluate Security Activities: Conduct regular reviews and evaluations of security activities to ensure proper documentation and retention of records and reports.
  • Develop Partnerships: Foster partnerships and communication with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies, as well as other security departments within the organization.
  • Promote a Safe Environment: Ensure a safe and secure environment for guests, employees, and company assets.
  • Respond to Incidents: Respond to significant incidents, including verbal and physical disputes, disorderly behavior, unauthorized entry, theft, lost children, and lost articles.
  • Practice Safe Work Habits: Consistently demonstrate safe work habits, including the use of personal protective equipment, lifting, driving, and reporting of unsafe situations.
  • Demonstrate Professional Behavior: Consistently demonstrate courteous and professional behavior with all team members and guests.
Requirements
  • Education: College degree or equivalent military, law enforcement, or security experience.
  • Experience: Three years of supervisory/management experience in security, law enforcement, military, or a related field.
  • Skills: Experience in loss prevention, training, investigative procedures, and court systems; valid state driver's license with a driving record that meets the organization's driving policy; CPR/AED and First Aid certification; state licenses and applicable certifications required; OC Spray and Handcuff training and certification; ability to define problems, collect accurate data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong organizational skills and ability to motivate people; comprehensive knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal ordinances; experience in conducting training on security policies and procedures; general understanding of common safety requirements; experience in loss prevention and investigative procedures.
  • Compensation: $30.00 per hour.
