Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Shelter Van Driver to join our team at Community Assistance Network.

About the Role:

The Shelter Van Driver will play a vital role in supporting residents by providing safe transportation to appointments, ensuring residents complete their assigned chores, attending classes, meetings, and other required services. This position also involves contributing to maintaining a clean shelter environment by stocking lavatories, stripping beds upon clients exiting, and preparing totes and beds for new resident intakes.

Responsibilities:

  • Safely transport residents to appointments
  • Supervise residents in completing their assigned chores
  • Maintain a clean shelter environment
  • Complete staff shift checklists and record shift documentation
  • Process daily client intake
  • Make referrals for clients in crisis
  • Promote CAN services and assist clients in solving their crisis

Requirements:

  • Good verbal communication skills
  • Valid Maryland driver's license (no CDL required)
  • At least 21 years old
  • Held a valid driver's license for at least 3 years
  • Able to work shift hours and days assigned
