Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Ultrasound Technologist to join our team at Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of technical procedures using ultrasound equipment to diagnose and treat various medical conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify proper clinician orders for procedures and obtain complete clinical history and examination data.
  • Position patients for procedures and ensure proper patient identification and marker usage.
  • Review ultrasound images for clinically acceptable results and release patients.
  • Respond to emergency situations and maintain life support equipment.
  • Assist other technologists in all modalities as needed.
  • Observe patient condition and evaluate situations when physician intervention is necessary.
  • Verify correct patient identity using 2 unique identifiers prior to performing procedures.
  • Ensure patient privacy and comfort are accommodated throughout the exam/procedure.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Sonography Program.
  • Registered Medical Sonographer or ARRT Sonography certification.
  • Basic Life Support or BLS - Instructor certification.
  • Successful completion of a Sonography Training Program with clinical experience.

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to function independently and under pressure while participating in a team environment.
  • Detail-oriented and able to multitask effectively.
