Job Summary

As a Cardiac Diagnostic Medical Sonographer at Kaiser Permanente, you will play a critical role in assisting physicians in the diagnosis of heart ailments by operating diagnostic ultrasound equipment to produce high-quality images. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring patient safety and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate diagnostic cardiac ultrasound equipment to record structure and flow characteristics of the heart for adult and adult-congenital cardiac patients.
  • Review and modify each echocardiogram during the procedure to obtain the highest quality exam possible.
  • Perform calculations and measurements to appropriately focus the exam and obtain the data needed for the particular diagnosis.
  • Organize processed images, measurements, calculations, and other data in a logical sequence for presentation to the physician for interpretation.
  • Record exam findings in reporting software for physician review and consult with the cardiologist regarding the quality of the images and data obtained.
Requirements
  • Completion of an accredited training program in Cardiac Diagnostic Sonography.
  • Registered Cardiac Sonographer Certificate from Cardiovascular Credentialing International or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Adult Echocardiography Certification from American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers.
  • Ability to operate diagnostic ultrasound equipment and doppler, and perform related technical procedures.
  • Highly effective interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills, customer focus abilities, and the ability to understand Kaiser Permanente customer needs.
