Job Summary

Houston Methodist Cypress Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist II to join our team. As a key member of our interprofessional care team, you will be responsible for evaluating and developing the therapy plan of care for a broad range of diagnoses and acuities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate patients to identify their level of function and develop a treatment plan to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • Provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers on speech and language skills, as well as strategies for improving communication.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to modify treatment plans and ensure seamless care transitions.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
  • Contribute to the development of best practices and process improvements in speech therapy.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) or temporary licensure within 90 days.
  • ASHA certification in Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Three years of experience as a Speech Language Pathologist.
  • Experience working with complex patient populations, including those with neurological disorders and traumatic brain injuries.
  • Strong assessment, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
