RN Clinical Team Leader

The RN Clinical Team Leader (Ambulatory) is a key member of our interprofessional team, providing patient-centered, specialized, and evidence-based nursing care across the continuum. This role is responsible for delivering compassionate and safe care within the scope of practice as defined by the Wisconsin Board of Nursing and ThedaCare policy.
Key Responsibilities- Utilize the nursing process, evidence-based practice, and specific competencies to assess patient needs and develop a plan of care in collaboration with the interprofessional team.
- Monitor compliance with standards of care through observation, verbal reports, audits, and written documentation, providing feedback to department leaders, providers, and team members.
- Plan for patient care needs in collaboration with the interprofessional team to provide the highest quality of care and clinical outcomes.
- Demonstrate clinical expertise in the provision of care in the clinical specialty assigned, performing functions of the professional clinical nurse that are age appropriate, developmentally sensitive, and culturally specific.
- Participate in patient care at least 50% of scheduled work hours, providing consultation and maintaining positive relationships with physicians and other interprofessional team members.
- Collaborate on department schedules, monitor staffing levels, and provide input to department leaders on budget preparation/monitoring and workload variability to predict and plan for appropriate staffing.
- Identify ways to improve the patient experience, streamline care processes, and lower costs while promoting patient, family, and team member satisfaction.
- Contribute to a professional environment that encourages mentoring, engagement, and development to retain expert clinicians.
- Demonstrate, anticipate, and proactively manage risks to prevent crises, performing skillfully in life-threatening emergencies.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or commitment to obtain within five years.
- Associate's Degree in Nursing accepted in lieu of BSN for those hired prior to 1/23/17.
- Current Wisconsin RN Licensure.
- American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS).
This role requires frequent exposure to sharp objects and instruments, occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock. Standing and/or walking for extended periods of time is also required.
