Investment and Development

Ford and SK On are making significant investments in the regions of Kentucky and Tennessee, which includes the establishment of three cutting-edge battery manufacturing facilities. These state-of-the-art plants will leverage Ford's century-long expertise in automobile manufacturing alongside SK On's extensive experience in electric vehicle battery production, aiming to set a new standard in battery manufacturing excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Our purchasing team is expanding rapidly, and we are in search of skilled procurement professionals who can effectively source the necessary components and services. The ideal candidate will embrace the challenge of building innovative solutions and will be proactive in developing, communicating, and implementing strategies. Key responsibilities include:

  • Raw Material Procurement for Battery Cells/Modules:
    • Identify and source essential materials according to the Bill of Materials (BOM) for battery cells and modules from both domestic and international suppliers.
    • Create annual and mid-to-long-term demand forecasts aligned with marketing strategies.
    • Oversee global supply chain management, including sourcing plans that account for inventory levels, quantities, and delivery schedules in line with manufacturing plans.
    • Ensure timely deliveries from suppliers to support production, while maintaining quality standards and swiftly addressing any discrepancies.
    • Define and monitor changes in materials and manage the development schedule and procurement processes.
    • Mitigate supplier risks by ensuring robust business continuity plans are established for potential supply chain disruptions.
    • Track and report on procurement performance, comparing objectives with actual outcomes, and monitor savings and implementation plans.
    • Manage procurement-related costs, delivery issues, and inventory challenges.
    • Prepare, distribute, and evaluate RFQs/RFPs from qualified suppliers.
    • Finalize contracts and terms, and register suppliers in the purchasing system.
    • Issue purchase orders, verify invoices, and manage monthly closing activities.
    • Support the enhancement of core purchasing processes and systems.
    • Ensure compliance with our Ethical Sourcing policies among all vendors.
General Requirements and Skills
  • Effective communication with internal and external stakeholders to ensure objectives and deliverables are met.
  • Consistent attendance and adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Regularly review key procurement metrics and results.
  • Accountable for achieving and reporting on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Collaborate with colleagues to coordinate activities across related departments.
  • Provide feedback on the need for revisions or new procedures.
  • Perform additional job-related duties as assigned, reporting to the Purchasing Lead or Manager.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and supplier capabilities.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, leadership, and computer skills.
  • Proficient analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
  • Self-motivated with experience in multitasking.
  • Ability to influence and guide at all organizational levels.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications and Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in purchasing or procurement.
  • Background in the automotive, chemical, or electric vehicle production sectors.
  • Experience in data analysis, market research, and demand forecasting.
  • Familiarity with purchasing processes in a manufacturing context.
  • Experience in developing automotive components and managing procurement as a buyer or Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE).
  • Proficiency in both English and Korean is advantageous but not mandatory.
