The University of Iowa Department of Radiation Oncology is seeking a skilled Radiation Oncology Dosimetrist to join our team. As a Dosimetrist II, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accurate delivery of radiation therapy to patients.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform calculations and computerized treatment planning to ensure precise radiation doses for patients.
- Check treatment plans and medical records for accuracy and compliance with state regulations.
- Assist in the development and implementation of new radiation therapy techniques and equipment.
- Provide dosimetry instruction and training to medical staff and students.
- Assist in the calibration and quality assurance of radiation therapy equipment.
- Bachelor's degree in a basic science or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Certification by the Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board or eligibility for certification through a JCERT-accredited program.
- Experience with VMAT, IMRT, SBRT, IGRT, and multi-modality treatment planning.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with Pinnacle, Monaco, and MRI Linac Accelerator treatment planning.
