Job Title: Class A Driver Job Summary: Orora Group is seeking an experienced Class A Driver to join our dynamic team. As a Class A Driver, you will be responsible for transporting goods and materials safely and efficiently from one location to another. Key Responsibilities: * Drive gasoline or diesel power tractor trailer combinations to transport goods and materials * Maintain physical security of cargo to prevent shifting and damage * Maintain truck log, per state and federal regulations * Inspect truck equipment and suppliers such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil and water * Drive vehicle to transport items from warehouse to plant or pick up items from several locations for shipment Pickup/Delivery: * Maintain phone contact with supervisor and/or dispatch to receive pick-up and delivery instructions * Prepare receipts and collect payment for goods delivered and for delivery charges when required * Load and unload truck * Pick up product at customers and suppliers, checks delivered product and quantities for accuracy * Has inspection authority to release product prior to delivery Shipping and Receiving: * Operate auxiliary equipment mounted on trucks such as hydraulics, hoists, etc. * Convey material and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas - using dedicated machinery * Sorts and places materials or items on racks shelves, or bins per predetermined sequence such size, type, style, color or product code * Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items * Marks materials with identifying information and records the amount of materials or items received or distributed * Use computer to enter records Requirements: * High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required * Minimum of 2 years' local city delivery experience required * Class A license required * Acceptable DMV report Preferred Qualifications: * Forklift certified preferred but not required Physical Demands & Work Environment: * Lifting - Raising or lowering an object from one level to another (includes upward pulling) * Carrying - Transporting an object, usually holding it in the hands, or arms, or on the shoulder * Sitting - Remaining in a normal seated position while driving from and to locations * Stooping - Bending the body downward and forward by bending the spine at the waist * Handling - Seizing, holding, grasping, turning or otherwise working with the hand or hands Equal Employment Opportunity: Orora Group is an equal opportunity employer committed to fostering a culturally diverse organization.
