As a Survey Technician, you will assist Registered Professional Surveyors with various tasks, including CAD production, deed research, boundary analysis, easement preparation, legal description, and computing survey points.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Registered Professional Surveyors with CAD production, deed research, boundary analysis, easement preparation, legal description, and computing survey points.
  • Process raw field data through Trimble Business Center and Civil 3D.
  • Perform QA/QC checks to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Coordinate and work with field crews and other office staff to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Ensure that division, regional, and company values, policies, and practices are consistently followed within the survey service.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating solid judgment, good values, trust, honesty, openness, and professionalism.

Required Skills

  • Strong listening, writing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of ALTA surveys, boundary analysis, topographic surveys, preparation of easement documents, legal descriptions, final plat preparation, and construction staking.
  • Ability to operate AutoCAD Civil 3D and Trimble Business Center for production activities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, support project coordination, and interact with other design services.
  • Full use of Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment that is in a growth mode.

Preferred Experience

  • An Associate Degree in Surveying, Engineering Technology, or related area of study.
  • SIT Certification.
  • Land Development, both Commercial and Residential, and Public Infrastructure Projects.
  • Coordinating activities with office personnel, including surveying technicians and engineering staff.
  • Experience searching for/recovering Public Land Survey System monuments.
  • Ability to travel and remain on a project site or other Westwood office for extended periods.
  • Processing and drafting utilizing LiDAR point clouds and imagery.
  • TBC Scanning Module preferred.
  • MicroStation experience preferred.
  • Ability to utilize survey field equipment is preferred.
  • FAA Part 107 UAS License.
