Residential Security Specialist

Alpha Project for the Homeless is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Residential Monitor and Security to join our team. As a key member of our shelter operations, you will play a critical role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for our clients, staff, and visitors.
Job Summary:Under the supervision of the Monitor/Security Supervisor and Program Manager, the Residential Monitor and Security will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our shelter and surrounding neighborhoods. This includes monitoring activities, assisting with daily operations, and providing support to clients and staff.
Key Responsibilities:- Assess participant needs at admission and exit of the program.
- Assist residents with requests/needs, including accessing supplies, clothing, food, etc.
- Support family stabilization.
- Document and report incidents and daily activities as instructed.
- Assist clients with special needs as needed.
- Collaborate with outside partner agencies.
- Make appropriate referrals to available resources and services.
- High School diploma or GED and a minimum of a combined one (1) year of lived experience and one (1) year of practical job experience preferred.
- One (1) year's experience working with vulnerable populations, preferred.
- CPR and First Aid, and NARCAN certification preferred.
- Ability to communicate in person and over the phone, required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, preferred.
- Understanding confidentiality protocols and protecting personal information is required.
- Ability to organize and prioritize projects and multiple tasks in an effective and timely manner, required.
- Effectively problem-solve and maintain composure in high-pressure situations, required.

- Sitting at a desk for sometimes long and continuous periods;
- Answering or making calls on the telephone for sometimes long and continuous periods;
- Using a keyboard to perform to communicate through written means for sometimes long and continuous periods;
- Looking at a computer monitor for sometimes long and continuous periods;
- Frequent standing, walking, reaching, lifting up to 50 lbs., and stooping;
- Exposure to moderate to loud noise levels;
- Possible contact with onsite animals/pets;
- Potential for exposure to bodily fluids.
