Job Overview

The Packaging Machine Operator role is essential for overseeing the operation of packaging machinery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor machine performance and promptly report any irregularities or unusual sounds to Supervisors and/or Maintenance personnel.
  • Ensure that products are loaded correctly into the machinery and be vigilant for any blockages in the feeding mechanism.
  • Adjust machine settings and prepare all necessary equipment for each production run.
  • Maintain accurate records of quality assessments using the Redzone system.
  • Uphold a clean and safe working environment.
  • Capable of lifting weights up to 40lbs on a regular basis.
  • Provide assistance in various production sectors as required.
  • Document reasons for downtime in Redzone promptly.
  • Facilitate communication across all plant areas through the Redzone platform.
  • Conduct Operator Preventative Maintenance and cleaning duties to ensure optimal machine functionality.
  • Availability for weekend shifts as scheduled is required.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • High school diploma or GED is preferred but not mandatory.
  • 1-2 years of experience in operating packaging machinery.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Comfortable working in varying temperature conditions.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, up to 8 hours during shifts.
  • Must possess the ability to read, write, and comprehend English for safety compliance.
