POSITION SUMMARY
STARTING SALARY $20 PER HOUR
The Production Assembly Specialist is responsible for the assembly of products, components, or materials utilizing hand tools, jigs, fixtures, adhesives, and fasteners in accordance with established standards to ensure safe and efficient production.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Safely operates designated equipment or tools in compliance with company and OSHA safety regulations.
- Follows approved procedures and work instructions, which are available on-site for operator reference and training.
- Monitors quality checkpoints at the workstation and records necessary data, with quality information accessible for operator review and training.
- Communicates quality and production issues to the Supervisor.
- Participates in cross-training across all workstations within the department.
- Performs operator-level preventative maintenance on all assigned tools, jigs, and fixtures as per the Preventative Maintenance Schedule.
- Maintains a clean and organized work environment.
- Completes additional tasks as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
- 3+ years of relevant assembly experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Basic proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook, and Internet applications.
- Fundamental analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), and planning skills.
- Basic verbal and written communication abilities (including analysis, interpretation, and reasoning).
- Basic understanding and application of mathematical concepts.
- Ability to cultivate and sustain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as with internal and external clients.
- Capacity to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Ability to influence peers and management.
- Self-motivated with a keen attention to detail, deadlines, and reporting.
- Possesses mechanical aptitude; capable of using a wide range of hand tools and has basic knowledge of power tools, forklifts, welding equipment, and cutting torches.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed.
PHYSICAL ASPECTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to manipulate objects, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and communicate effectively.
- Frequently lifts and/or moves up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required for this role include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Regular exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, extreme temperatures, risk of electrical shock, and hazardous chemicals.
- The noise level in the work environment may be elevated.
