Braille Music Proofreader

We are seeking a skilled Braille Music Proofreader to join our team at Library Systems & Services. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for proofreading and editing digital Braille music files to ensure accuracy and compliance with national Braille standards.

• Verify the accuracy of transcriptions and compare digital files with original Braille hard copies.
• Ensure all files conform to recognized national Braille standards, including literary and music Braille.
• Rearrange Braille text in older scores to conform to current standards.
• Add running headers and page numbers, and remove old headings as needed.
• Maintain a list of changes made to Braille files and submit a proofreader's report.

• Certification in braille transcription by the Library of Congress.
• Braille music certification, full level for most tasks, or associate level for selected tasks.
• Experience transcribing or proofreading braille.
• Knowledge of literary and music Braille, including current and previous standards.
• Some knowledge of multiple languages, including French, German, Italian, and Spanish.
