About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Dosimetrist to join our Radiation Oncology team at Northern Light Health. As a Medical Dosimetrist, you will play a critical role in developing and producing radiation oncology treatment plans that meet the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Radiation Oncologists, Medical Physicists, and Radiation Therapists to develop treatment plans that meet the physician's prescription and intent.
  • Utilize computerized and manual treatment planning tools to create accurate and effective treatment plans.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of treatment plans that meet the needs of our patients.
  • Assist in the teaching of medical residents, physics residents, and therapy students.
  • Participate on special task groups as directed, such as the Radiation Safety Committee and Continuing Quality Improvement Committee.
Requirements
  • Associate's Degree in Medical Dosimetry or a related field.
  • Certified Medical Dosimetrist (CMD) Certification by the Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board (MDCB) or Candidate may also have graduated from an approved Medical Dosimetry Program through the American Association of Medical Dosimetrists AAMD and have obtained MDCB board eligible status.
  • Strong knowledge of radiation therapy principles, techniques, and equipment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
