Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and vigilant Aquatic Safety Supervisor to ensure the safety and well-being of all patrons in our aquatic facilities. This role is essential in maintaining a secure and enjoyable environment for swimmers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct swim assessments to verify candidates' swimming capabilities.
- Enforce established safety protocols and regulations to guarantee a secure pool area.
- Supervise swimmers effectively to ensure their safety at all times.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of pool decks and facilities.
- Complete closing procedures thoroughly and accurately.
- Foster positive relationships with fellow employees, management, and patrons.
- Keep lifeguard certifications up to date and apply first aid and rescue techniques as necessary.
- Accurately complete required documentation in a timely manner.
- Obtain and maintain certifications in CPR, First Aid, and Lifeguard Training Instructor within the specified timeframe.
- Possess or be willing to obtain a Water Safety Instructor Certificate.
- Demonstrate knowledge of lifesaving techniques, including backboard rescue and CPR.
- Understand and adhere to company policies, safety regulations, and applicable city and state codes.
- Utilize and maintain lifeguard equipment appropriately.
- Preferred experience in lifeguarding or related fields.
- Successfully pass a swim test of 500 yards in ten minutes or less.
- Exhibit strong swimming and lifesaving skills.
- Collaborate effectively within a team environment.
- Demonstrate problem-solving and organizational abilities.
- Maintain an alert, attentive, and responsible demeanor.
- Instruct aquatic programs as needed.
- Engage effectively with the public and respond to emergencies swiftly and efficiently.
- Complete health and drug screening as well as training programs successfully.
- Communicate clearly and effectively.
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is preferred but not mandatory.
