Role SummaryThe Director of Software Engineering will play a critical role in revolutionizing the RV industry by defining and leading the development of embedded software for our 100% Electric RV. This individual will be instrumental in driving our software architecture, ensuring that our embedded systems are reliable, scalable, and ready for mass production.
Responsibilities- Lead and scale a small but growing team of software engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
- Oversee the entire embedded software development lifecycle, from architecture design to implementation, testing, and deployment.
- Drive the maturation and innovation of our embedded software architecture, ensuring it meets the needs of our next-generation electric RVs.
- Collaborate closely with hardware engineering teams to integrate software with hardware components, ensuring seamless operation of our systems.
- Lead the development of diagnostics, algorithms, and system monitoring features to enhance the performance and reliability of our products.
- Navigate production challenges and ensure that our software systems are robust and ready for mass deployment.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in embedded software development, with a strong track record of releasing products into the hands of customers.
- Extensive experience in the automotive, electric vehicle, or aerospace industry, particularly in developing and deploying embedded software systems.
- Proven experience in shipping products, preferably from innovative startups.
- Strong leadership skills with a hands-on approach, capable of building trust and guiding teams through complex software development challenges.
- Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS), software for safety-critical systems, and embedded C/C++.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-moving startup environment, with a passion for innovation and sustainable living.
