Pharmacy Technician

The Pharmacy Technician assists the Pharmacist in performing routine duties, including retrieving and receiving written doctor's orders, prescriptions, or files. The successful candidate will perform clerical tasks such as typing labels and maintaining patient profiles, package medications, answer phones, keep records, account receivable and posting, assist with inventory control, maintain a clean and orderly pharmacy, deliver medications to nursing stations, maintain computerized databases, restock automated dispensing cabinets, store and retrieve archived data, and other duties as defined by state and federal law under the immediate supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
Responsibilities:
Assist the Pharmacist in performing routine duties
Perform clerical tasks such as typing labels and maintaining patient profiles
Package medications and maintain a clean and orderly pharmacy
Assist with inventory control and maintain computerized databases
Restock automated dispensing cabinets and store and retrieve archived data
Requirements:
Certified as a Pharmacy Technician with the Louisiana Board of Pharmacy or intern license with Louisiana Board of Pharmacy required
