$16.90 per hour
Position Summary:
The Medical Billing Specialist is responsible for the accurate processing of electronic and paper insurance claims to optimize third-party revenue collection. This role involves the meticulous posting of Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and the implementation of follow-up procedures to ensure maximum revenue recovery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute insurance billing procedures, including knowledge of ICD-9, CPT, and HCPC coding.
- Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Utilize math and data entry skills effectively.
- Organize and maintain follow-up systems for billing inquiries.
- Exhibit a high level of attention to detail and organizational capabilities.
- Uphold confidentiality standards in all interactions.
- Work independently with minimal supervision.
- Interpret policies and guidelines, making sound judgments in ambiguous situations.
- Foster effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Show initiative and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; two years of experience in a similar role is preferred.
- Prior experience in a healthcare setting is advantageous.
