Job Title: Associate Producer

Job Summary:

We are seeking an Associate Producer to join our team at WFSU-TV/The Florida Channel. The successful candidate will be responsible for researching information to be used in programs and program segments, compiling information for graphics or other visual elements, and selecting bites and video for packages.

Responsibilities:

  • Researches information to be used in programs and program segments
  • Compiles information for graphics or other visual elements
  • Selects bites and video for packages
  • Logs tapes and meetings
  • Covers events
  • Assists the producer with numerous duties required to produce Capitol Update

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalency and four years of experience related to the duties of the position
  • A valid Florida or Georgia driver's license or the ability to obtain prior to hire
  • Strong writing and research skills
  • Experience writing on deadline
  • The ability to think creatively and carry out specific program concepts after receiving general guidance
  • Attention to detail; effective time-management and organizational skills
  • The ability to work as part of a team on tight deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to deal with fast-changing situations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Florida government
  • Experience with iNews and Avid

The Florida Channel (TFC) produces programming covering all three branches of state government, and is Florida's primary source for live, unedited coverage of the Governor and Cabinet, the Legislature, and the Supreme Court.
