Position Overview:
As a Mid-Level Tailings Engineer at Accoravillage, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on environmental sustainability while working alongside a team of dedicated professionals. Key Responsibilities:
In this role, you will engage in various activities related to mine waste and water management, including:
  • Conducting site evaluations and feasibility assessments for tailings management solutions.
  • Creating both conceptual and detailed engineering designs for tailings storage facilities, focusing on embankments, liners, and drainage systems.
  • Utilizing numerical modeling and analysis to evaluate the stability and performance of tailing structures under diverse conditions.
  • Providing technical expertise and support to clients throughout the entire project lifecycle, from design through to construction and operation.
  • Collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to incorporate environmental, geotechnical, and regulatory considerations into tailings management strategies.
  • Performing risk assessments and developing mitigation strategies to minimize environmental and safety risks associated with tailings storage.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in civil or geotechnical engineering; a master's degree is a plus.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in civil or geotechnical engineering, preferably within the mining sector.
  • Eligibility for professional engineering registration in Canada.
  • Proficiency in geotechnical analysis software (e.g., FLAC, PLAXIS, GeoStudio).
  • A solid understanding of mining regulations and industry best practices.
  • A passion for building long-term client relationships and collaborating effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, including experience in drafting technical reports and project correspondence.
  • A background in safety-focused environments with experience in incident reporting.

Compensation and Benefits:
