About the Job
The Critical Care Nurse Practice Specialist at Emory Health Care serves as a clinical and educational leader within the nursing practice. This role emphasizes the integration of new knowledge and innovation to enhance patient care, collaborating across disciplines to improve health outcomes.
This Specialist provides leadership in order to integrate new knowledge and innovation within a specialty area and appreciate system levels to help close the gap ensuring healthcare delivery is safe, timely, effective, evidence-based, equitable, efficient, and patient/family focused.
Key Responsibilities
- Mentor nursing staff and promote evidence-based practices to elevate nursing standards and patient advocacy.
- Lead initiatives to improve patient care and health outcomes on the unit, within the service line, and across the organization.
- Contribute to the advancement of nursing practice at the unit/system, local, state, national, and/or international level.
- Apply and lead the Professional Practice/Care Transformation Model across the health system.
- Manage process improvement projects and initiatives to improve patient-centered care.
Requirements
- Professional Nursing Certification required (CCRN, CEN, OCN, etc.)
- Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) and three years of clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse with at least two years of recent experience in the area of concentration.
- BLS and ACLS certifications required.
