Acute Care Imaging Technologist

The Acute Care Imaging Technologist plays a crucial role in delivering healthcare services by aiding in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. This position involves performing CT and X-Ray procedures, generating high-quality images for interpretation by licensed practitioners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducts CT and X-Ray examinations across various hospital departments, including NICU, CCU, and ED, as requested by medical personnel.
- Collaborates with Radiologists and other healthcare staff during imaging procedures.
- Ensures proper management of imaging distribution, billing, and archival processes.
- Maintains accurate documentation for the interpretation, reporting, and retrieval of imaging studies.
- Retrieves and verifies written orders and pertinent health information to facilitate timely imaging performance and reporting.
- Engages in the monitoring and enhancement of quality indicators as outlined in the strategic plan.
- Operates independently in a complex, acute care environment.
- Provides training and support to colleagues.
- Participates in a call rotation with fellow technologists.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts and during holidays as necessary.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduation from a CAHEA accredited Radiology program or equivalent.
- Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) with R.T.(R) and advanced registry in CT, R.T.(CT).
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association within 60 days of hire.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience as a registered radiologic technologist.
- Preferred: At least 1 year of CT experience in a trauma center (level I or II).
