As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will spearhead initiatives to enhance and streamline manufacturing processes while working closely with plant leadership to ensure alignment with overarching business goals. Utilizing your expertise, you will design and refine manufacturing workflows, promote continuous improvement, and develop innovative solutions to boost efficiency and productivity. Key Responsibilities:
  • Process Design and Enhancement: Lead initiatives to develop and optimize manufacturing workflows, utilizing your experience to foster continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Collaboration with Leadership: Partner with plant management to synchronize manufacturing processes with broader business objectives, identifying opportunities for enhancement and executing effective solutions.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Engage with diverse teams at Simmons to discover opportunities for process improvements and implement effective solutions.
  • Feasibility Analysis: Employ your analytical skills to evaluate the feasibility and cost-effectiveness of new methods, processes, and equipment, guiding strategic decision-making and resource allocation.
  • Data-Driven Analysis: Leverage your experience to assess production metrics and data, identifying bottlenecks and implementing strategies to optimize throughput and minimize cycle times.
  • Documentation Management: Ensure adherence to quality standards by developing and maintaining comprehensive documentation of manufacturing procedures, work instructions, and standard operating procedures.
  • Leadership Support: Provide guidance and expertise to resolve complex production challenges, minimizing downtime and promoting operational excellence.
  • Lean Methodologies: Champion lean principles and methodologies at Simmons, leading cross-functional teams to adopt best practices and reduce waste.
Qualifications:
  • Education: A bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience is preferred. Advanced degrees or relevant certifications are advantageous.
  • Experience: For seasoned candidates, we seek demonstrated expertise in manufacturing engineering with a history of driving process improvement and optimization. Recent graduates should exhibit a passion for continuous improvement and a solid foundation in engineering principles.
