Job Summary:
This Advanced Practice Provider role functions as part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team to provide high-quality, cost-effective care to patients within the scope of practice in collaboration with a supervising physician.
The ideal candidate will reflect the organization's mission, vision, and values, and comply with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clinical: Obtain relevant health and medical history, perform thorough physical assessments, review and interpret diagnostic tests/results, develop appropriate differential diagnoses, and implement treatment plans, including prescribing/ordering evidence-based pharmacological agents consistent with departmental guidelines and privileging.
- Education: Educate clients and/or families regarding medical conditions, treatment, and follow-up, collaborate with clinicians, staff, and students to promote continuity and patient-centered care, and develop educational materials based on learning needs.
- Leadership: Provide instruction to physicians, house staff, nursing, ancillaries, and/or students, participate in community/network outreach programs, and develop/lead community/network outreach programs.
- Professionalism: Interact with patients and families in a respectful, courteous, and timely fashion, and collaborate with coworkers, other team members, and staff in a respectful, courteous, and timely fashion.
- Quality/Research: Engage in daily continuous quality improvement, consult with management, lead interdisciplinary teams, and develop new clinical programs or services to improve patient care.
Requirements:
- Completion of an accredited graduate-level Advanced Practice Provider (APRN or PA) program.
- Licensed as an Advanced Practice Provider in the state of North Carolina, with board certification if required by the Department, and DEA.
- No prior experience required.
- Demonstrated clinical competency, effective leadership skills, strong interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and collaboratively, and demonstrated written and verbal communication and analytical skills.
Job Details:
- Employed by NC Health (Rex Healthcare, Inc., d/b/a NC Health), a private, fully-owned subsidiary of UNC Health Care System.
- Exempt from overtime.
