Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team at a mine facility located near Craig, Colorado.


About the Role

This critical position ensures the reliability and efficiency of our fleet of diesel-powered vehicles and machinery such as Dodge trucks, Mantrips, Scoops, Unloaders, Dozers, and Loaders. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of diesel engine systems and be adept at diagnosing and repairing various mechanical issues.


Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct diagnostic tests on diesel engines and associated systems.
  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance on vehicles.
  • Repair and replace defective parts and components in diesel engines.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, service performed, and parts used.
  • Adhere to safety standards and procedures while performing all duties.

Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent with vocational training in diesel mechanics is preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engine systems and repair techniques.
  • Familiarity with diagnostic equipment and tools typically used in diesel maintenance.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • A valid driver's license.
