Job SummaryWe are seeking a Quality Assurance Supervisor to join our team. The successful candidate will assist the QA Manager in leading the plant in assessing food quality and safety, and will provide quality and food safety leadership to QA Lab Analysts.
Responsibilities- Assist in the hiring, training, and development of QA analysts.
- Receive, troubleshoot, and monitor all New Formula Releases.
- Review and implement processing procedures.
- Create processing procedures for selected kitchens.
- Monitor all initial dressing production runs by assisting R&D and processing.
- Assist in resolving non-conformance issues/quality problems at plant.
- Work with plant management team to develop corrective action plans and communicate plans to QA management.
- Perform Monthly GMP Audits of the plant Food Safety and Quality program.
- Communicate findings to plant management.
- Serve as a key technical resource in plant and as a liaison between corporate R&D, Tech Services, and plant operations.
- Advise plant on quality and food safety implications of changes in product, processing, or facility design.
- Review/Submit monthly customer reports (i.e. YUM KPI's, Boston Market).
- Review/Evaluate production samples needing approval from a customer.
- Disposition product/ingredients that are on hold.
- Write weekly schedule for all employees on the shift (QA Manager has final approval of schedule).
- Review all completed QA paperwork, and effectively communicate needed corrections to analyst.
- Assist in preparation and presenting information for all internal, 3rd party, customer, and State/Federal audits of our facility.
- BS or BA degree in chemistry, biology, microbiology, or food science preferred.
- Three plus years of experience in quality assurance in a food-related industry.
- Food-related industry experience is a must.
- Must be able to lead projects/people, motivate associates, and proactively anticipate and address issues.
The Quality Assurance Supervisor will work in a laboratory and manufacturing environment where the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb, crouch, reach, and bend while moving about the facility. The employee is regularly exposed to moving machines and handling of hazardous testing and sanitation chemicals. The noise level in the lab is moderate and loud in the plant. Hairnets, earplugs, goggles, and gloves are required in accordance with GMP and safety standards.
