Position Description:
The Ingram School of Engineering at Texas State University is seeking a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Mechanical Engineering with expertise in control systems and robotics or thermal-fluid sciences. The successful candidate will be expected to establish an externally funded research program, teach undergraduate and graduate courses, and participate in curriculum and program development.
Required Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in mechanical engineering or a closely related field
- Academic and research background in control systems and robotics or thermal-fluid sciences
- Expertise in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Digital Twins
- Research competence evidenced by publications in peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings
- Demonstrated excellence in communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Postdoctoral and/or industrial experience
- Record of teaching experience
- Ability to work collaboratively with faculty across multiple departments and programs
- Knowledge about ABET accreditation procedures and deliverables
- Demonstrated experience writing and securing grants and contracts
