Job Summary:

MedChi, The Maryland State Medical Society is seeking a highly skilled Physician - Medical Oncologist Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our medical staff, you will provide consultation services and follow-up care for patients with hematological and oncological conditions.

Responsibilities:

  1. Evaluate and prioritize requests from primary care providers for outpatient hematology/oncology subspecialty consultations.
  2. Conduct thorough medical histories and physical examinations.
  3. Order and evaluate laboratory testing as necessary.
  4. Develop and implement treatment plans for patients.
  5. Coordinate medical management and care with primary care providers and other medical personnel.
  6. Perform administrative tasks, such as peer reviews and ongoing professional practice evaluations.
  7. Provide hematology/oncology on-call services as assigned.

Requirements:

  1. United States citizenship.
  2. Doctor of Medicine degree from an accredited institution.
  3. Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a U.S. state or territory.
  4. Completion of residency training in an accredited core specialty training program.
  5. Proficiency in spoken and written English.

Preferred Qualifications:

Board certification in oncology and at least 3 years of experience in the field.

Physical Requirements:

This position requires a pre-employment physical. Eligible applicants must be physically and mentally able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
