Job Description

1st Shift. Compensation ranges from $25 to $42 per hour.

Position Overview:
The Precision Jig Grinder Specialist is responsible for operating Moor Jig Grinders, interpreting technical drawings and sketches, and utilizing manual machining equipment to produce high-precision components.

Key Responsibilities and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience with Moore G-18 Jig Grinders or comparable machinery.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and effective problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to achieve exceptional accuracy in work, with tolerances as tight as .0005 inches.
  • Familiarity with aerospace materials and their machining properties.
  • Solid understanding of feed rates and speeds for various materials.
  • Expertise in setting up fixtures and parts for machining operations.
  • Proficient in using various measuring instruments, including OD/ID micrometers, depth gauges, height gauges, and bore gauges.
  • Extensive experience in interpreting technical drawings in accordance with ASME Y14.5 standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of experience in Jig Grinding (Moore G-18 or similar).
  • Strong mechanical skills with a focus on problem-solving.
  • Proven ability to produce precise work.
  • Mathematical skills relevant to machining processes.
  • Expertise in operating Moore G-18 or similar Jig Grinders.

2nd Shift Compensation ranges from $25 to $35 per hour.

ID/OD Grinder Operator Overview:
The ID/OD Grinder Operator is tasked with the operation and maintenance of grinding equipment to manufacture high-quality precision components. This role requires expertise in setting up and running NC ID/OD grinding machines while maintaining meticulous attention to detail to ensure compliance with engineering specifications and tight tolerances.

  • Set up and operate ID/OD grinding machines to create precision parts based on engineering specifications.
  • Execute grinding operations on various materials, including metals and alloys, to achieve specified dimensions and surface finishes.
  • Knowledge of aerospace metals and grinding machine operations to effectively plan and execute tasks.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Adjust machine settings to enhance production efficiency and maintain quality standards.
  • Utilize precision measuring tools to inspect finished parts and ensure adherence to specifications.
  • Identify and resolve issues related to machine performance and workpiece quality.
  • Strictly adhere to safety protocols to ensure a secure working environment.
  • Maintain accurate records of production activities, including machine settings and inspection results.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of experience in ID/OD Grinding (Manual & NC).
  • Strong mechanical skills with effective problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven ability to produce precise work with tolerances of +/-.0005 inches.
  • Mathematical skills relevant to machining processes.
  • Expertise in operating both conventional and NC ID/OD grinders.
  • Familiarity with aerospace materials.
  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
