Job Summary

CEMEX is seeking a skilled Electrical Instrumentation Technician to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance department, you will be responsible for assembling, installing, constructing, testing, and maintaining all electrical equipment and performing line work, calibration, and service testing.

Responsibilities
  • Inspect, repair, replace, install, adjust, and maintain all electrical equipment, gauges, instruments, and environmental and process control equipment.
  • Work from blueprints and electrical drawings, including ladder diagrams and wiring diagrams, as well as one-line drawings and diagrams.
  • Determine the best way to make repairs to minimize the interruption of AC & DC equipment.
  • Advise when immediate shutdown of equipment is necessary to minimize damage or when temporarily continuing operation will have no harmful effect.
  • Dismantle, clean, repair, replace, install, maintain, and assemble all electrical and instrument equipment.
  • Dismantle, inspect, repair, replace, or adjust faulty parts and wiring on electrical equipment such as motors, generators, air compressors, relays, and controls, switches, circuit breakers, transformers, hydraulic, magnetic, and pneumatic equipment, panel boards, batteries, and starters.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance.
  • Work closely in support of the production department and collaborate with other members of the maintenance department.
Requirements
  • 5 years of industrial electrical experience or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Must have power distribution experience or understanding and programmable logic control and digital drive experience.
  • Must have experience and proficiency in industrial electrical and instrument maintenance, including the application of electrical principles.
  • Must be able to become proficient with a working knowledge of the National Electric Code and experience and proficiency working with AC single-phase and three-phase systems (4160V, 480V, and 120V).
Working Conditions
  • Extreme temperatures.
  • Able to work at heights greater than five stories.
  • Frequent standing, sitting, squatting, and walking.
Physical Requirements
  • Be able to lift and move 50+ lbs.
