Job Summary:
WellStar Spalding Regional Hospital is seeking a skilled MRI Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing technical procedures, obtaining clinical history, and assessing patient conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform technical procedures independently with judgment, ingenuity, and initiative for the diagnosis and/or treatment of diseases.
  • Obtain complete clinical history, gather examination data, and assess for patient conditions.
  • Follow established procedures for administering contrast media safely.
  • Ensure all studies have proper patient identification and review images for clinically acceptable results.
  • Respond to emergency situations and provide assistance in all modalities when needed.
  • Observe patient condition and evaluate when physician intervention is necessary.
  • Ensure patient privacy and maintain dignity throughout exams/procedures.
  • Organize schedule, prioritize activities, and follow physicians' instructions.
  • Demonstrate and understand pre-and-post procedural care, sterile technique, and prep patients for procedures.
  • Apply supportive and immobilization devices safely and effectively.
  • Communicate clearly with patients to minimize anxiety and facilitate cooperation using AIDET.
  • Participate in the orientation and training of departmental employees and complete mandatory education requirements.

Requirements:
  • Minimum 2 years of MRI experience required.
  • Certified MRI Technologist or ARRT.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) or BLS Instructor.
  • Successful completion of an accredited MRI program or ARRT-R.
