Job Title: Merchandise Associate

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Merchandise Associate to join our team at Legends. As a Merchandise Associate, you will be responsible for creating an exceptional retail experience for our guests. Your primary goal will be to provide legendary customer service, display merchandise in an attractive and appealing manner, and maintain a clean and organized store environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide an exciting and positive environment for our diverse team and fan base
  • Greet guests and ascertain their interests to make sales recommendations
  • Excellent accuracy when using POS systems
  • Demonstrate ownership in cleaning, re-stocking, and other tasks assigned by supervisor
  • Present merchandise to increase sales with add-on items
  • Must be able to describe merchandise features, benefits, and explain use
  • Keep current on promotions and sales in-store and events at the speedway
  • Maintain inventory, merchandise placement, and accurate counts. Assist in inventory
  • Continually increase knowledge of product, facility, and all events held at IMS
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor
  • Must be able to read and implement plan-o-grams
  • Assist the Gift Shop set-up team with merchandising of event gift shops, including plan-o-grams, merchandise placement, inventory control, cleaning of shops, and fixtures

Qualifications:

  • Honesty and integrity in all actions and language
  • Must be able to take constructive feedback and make necessary changes
  • Excellent customer service and selling skills
  • Be willing to work extended hours on event days
  • Must be able to work weekends and overtime as needed
  • High school graduate, GED, or equivalent experience in a comparable company
  • Accuracy in open and close procedures
  • Able to lift 50lbs and stand for long periods of time
  • Innovative and self-starter, who can work independently and as part of a team
