Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and friendly Host to join our team at Emmett's Brewing Company. As a Host, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, setting the tone for an exceptional dining experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Greeting and Seating: Welcome guests and seat them at tables or in waiting areas, ensuring a warm and inviting atmosphere.
  • Menu Provision: Provide guests with menus and answer any questions they may have.
  • Table Management: Assign patrons to tables suitable for their needs and according to rotation, ensuring servers receive an appropriate number of seatings.
  • Communication: Inform guests of current promotions and introduce them to their server, ensuring a smooth handoff to the service staff.
  • Flow Management: Manage the flow of guests into the dining and bar areas, providing accurate wait times to incoming guests if necessary.
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Clear and clean tables, and check and clean bathrooms to maintain a clean and safe environment.
Requirements:
  • Previous Experience: Previous restaurant hosting or serving experience is preferred.
  • Customer Focus: A friendly and customer-focused personality is essential for this role.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to articulate clear greetings and farewells to guests, as well as understand requests for assistance.
  • Teamwork: Ability to clearly communicate guests' needs to servers, bussers, managers, and other staff members.
  • Phone Skills: Ability to effectively communicate on the telephone.
  • Physical Demands: Must be able to carry trays or supplies (up to 25 lbs.).
  • Certifications: ServeSafe or Food Handlers certification (or willingness to attain), and a workplace sexual harassment certificate.
