About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Direct Support Professional in a residential care setting. As a DSP, you will work closely with individuals who require support with daily living tasks and developing their life skills. You will be responsible for creating a safe and supportive environment that promotes independence and personal growth.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing person-centered support to individuals with intellectual disabilities or mental health challenges.
  • Developing and implementing individualized support plans to meet the unique needs of each resident.
  • Collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care and support.
  • Recording and reporting on resident progress and any changes in status.
  • Participating in ongoing professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Compliance with all relevant professional standards of practice.
  • Participation in Amergis' Competency program when applicable.
  • CPR certification if applicable.
  • TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray if applicable.
  • Current Health Certificate (per contract or state regulation).
  • Meet all federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site.
  • Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, supervisors, and colleagues.
