Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Mixology Specialist to join our team at Rocky Top Catering. As a key member of our beverage service team, you will be responsible for preparing, mixing, and serving drinks and beverages to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greet customers and present beverage menus in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Make recommendations and answer all related inquiries to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Check identification of customers to verify they are of legal drinking age and ensure compliance with all health, safety, and hygiene standards.
  • Take orders from serving staff directly or from customers and record drink orders accurately into our register system.
  • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks in accordance with standard recipes and presentation guidelines.
  • Peel, slice, and pit fruit for garnishing drinks and mix and garnish cocktails according to standard specs.
  • Upsell drink and appetizers to customers to increase sales and revenue.
  • Respond promptly to requests from customers in a polite and professional fashion and attempt to limit problems related to customers' excessive drinking by following established procedures.
  • Process transactions, prepare checks for customers, and process customer payments in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Ensure clean glasses, bar equipment, and working areas are maintained at all times.
  • Monitor inventory levels and order and restock bar inventory as needed to ensure optimal stock levels.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Minimum age requirement of 21.
  • 2+ years of experience in a similar role.
  • Working knowledge of standard drink recipes and spirits, wine, and beer.
  • Understanding of classes of alcohol, different glasses, brand names, and garnishments.
  • Working knowledge of bar equipment and ability to operate efficiently.
  • Knowledge and education in mixology an advantage.
  • Able to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Able to work in a standing position for long periods and lift up to 30 pounds.
