Position Title: Construction Oversight Specialist

Location: Colorado National Monument

Project Duration: 55 calendar days - specific dates to be determined.

Compensation: $90,000 to $110,000 annually based on experience

Project Overview:

This role involves a Tunnel Preservation Project situated at Colorado National Monument, near Grand Junction and Fruita, Colorado. Daily construction activities may vary based on project needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert technical support to the client during the construction phase.
  • Organize, attend, and lead various meetings, including regular site meetings.
  • Document challenges and issues encountered with the construction contractor.
  • Evaluate the contractor's baseline and progress schedules.
  • Prepare project-related correspondence for review and distribution.
  • Inspect contractor work for progress, quality, and compliance with contract specifications and safety standards.
  • Deliver reports, evaluations, and design work to the client.
  • Review and manage contractor RFIs, assist in resolution, and ensure proper tracking and follow-up.
  • Ensure thorough photographic documentation of ongoing work.
Required Qualifications:
  • Relevant education and professional credentials in construction, architecture, or engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality control across three phases.
  • At least 3 years of experience in structural, bridge, or tunnel inspections; Nationally Certified Tunnel Inspector certification is preferred.
  • Completion of OSHA 30-hour construction safety training is mandatory.
  • Familiarity with construction practices, including building codes, safety regulations, cost estimating, and technical writing.
  • Understanding of baseline schedules, report generation, and critical path methodology.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans, schedules, and specifications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Proficiency in software tools such as Microsoft Project, Word, and Excel.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • Physical capability to walk or climb regularly to observe contract performance.
  • Effective communication skills with a diverse range of individuals.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a dynamic work environment.
