About the Role

Bednark Studio Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Carpenter to join our team of experts in creating custom builds for special events, retail displays, and more.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Technical Drawing Interpretation: Interpret and build from technical drawings, communicating effectively with Lead Carpenters and Department Managers.
  • Project Management: Manage personal tasks according to production schedules.
  • Fabrication and Maintenance: Operate and maintain all fabrication shop machines, equipment, and tools (electric and pneumatic).
  • Carpentry Expertise: Apply in-depth knowledge of wood species, engineered sheet goods, joinery, hardware, and cabinet making.
  • Collaboration and Quality Control: Collaborate with team members on engineering and best build practices, ensuring all products meet Bednark's high standards before progressing to the next production stage.
  • Work Environment: Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work environment.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
  • Professional Experience: 2-5 years of professional carpentry experience.
  • Industry Experience: 1-2 years of construction event industry experience.
  • Tool Proficiency: Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery.
  • Carpentry Knowledge: Strong understanding of carpentry techniques, installation methods, and construction practices.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent skills in following directions, plans, blueprints, and sketches.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, professional interpersonal skills for client interactions.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with computers and mobile devices.
  • Multi-Tasking: Ability to multi-task and maintain focus on critical objectives.
Additional Requirements:
  • Flexibility: Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules in the dynamic Retail/Construction industry.
  • Safety Knowledge: Knowledge of General Safety Practices or OSHA training (preferred).
  • Teamwork: Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
