Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated CT Imaging Specialist who thrives in a dynamic environment.

In this role, you will execute high-quality routine and specialized CT imaging procedures as requested by licensed independent practitioners for evaluation by radiologists.

The CT Imaging Specialist combines scientific expertise, technical proficiency, patient engagement, and empathetic care to deliver diagnostic insights while recognizing patient conditions critical for the successful execution of imaging procedures.

Additionally, the CT Technologist is responsible for the preparation, administration, and documentation of activities related to medications in compliance with state regulations and institutional policies.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Completion of an accredited diagnostic Radiology program is mandatory
  • CMRT certification from the Texas Medical Board is required
  • CT-NMTCB certification from the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board or CT-ARRT certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists is essential
  • R-ARRT certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists is preferred

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluates factors that may contraindicate the imaging procedure, including medication interactions, patient risk for adverse reactions, medical history, lab results, inadequate patient preparation, or artifacts
  • Provides comprehensive and clear information about the imaging procedure to patients, families, and others, addressing any questions related to the procedure while directing inquiries about diagnosis, treatment, or prognosis to a licensed independent practitioner
  • Conducts routine, urgent, and intraoperative CT imaging cases while accurately demonstrating anatomy and pathology through effective diagnostic scanning
  • Ensures precise, complete, and accurate data entry and image management within the appropriate technological frameworks: EPIC, PACS, etc.
  • Records radiation exposure parameters, medication usage, shielding devices, and safety practices as required
  • Assesses images for technical acceptability, ensuring proper identification and documentation are accurately recorded
  • Engages in and leads continuing education in-service programs, reviews professional literature, examines procedure manuals, and participates in training sessions
  • Communicates effectively with relevant medical personnel to address associated clinical care inquiries
