GeorgiaGov is seeking a highly skilled Forensic Psychologist to join our team at Central State Hospital. As a Forensic Psychologist, you will play a critical role in the evaluation and treatment of individuals referred by the criminal justice system.
Job Summary:The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting court-ordered pretrial forensic psychological evaluations to determine competency to stand trial and/or criminal responsibility. You will also complete assessments on individuals admitted to a State Forensic Psychiatric Unit, conduct forensic risk assessments, and provide psycho-educational interventions.
Responsibilities:- Conduct court-ordered pretrial forensic psychological evaluations to determine competency to stand trial and/or criminal responsibility.
- Complete assessments on individuals admitted to a State Forensic Psychiatric Unit.
- Conduct forensic risk assessments and other psychological testing.
- Provide psycho-educational interventions and group treatment.
- Document treatment progress and prepare reports.
To be considered for this role, you must have a Doctorate degree in clinical or counseling psychology from an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited college or university and a current Georgia license to practice psychology. Additionally, you must have one year of experience at the lower level Psychologist 1 (HCP140) or equivalent.
Benefits:- Vacation time: 15 days per year for the first 5 years of service, increasing to 18 days per year for 5-10 years of service, and 21 days per year for 10+ years of service.
