Join Marcum LLP as a Tax Senior

Marcum LLP is a leading national accounting and advisory services firm seeking a highly skilled Tax Senior to join our growing Tax & Business Services practice. As a Tax Senior, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional tax services to our clients, leveraging your expertise in tax planning, compliance, and risk management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain productive working relationships with client personnel, ensuring exceptional client satisfaction.
  • Perform diversified tax assignments, demonstrating technical skills, work quality, and application of professional and firm standards.
  • Meet time constraints and client deadlines, participating in planning and scheduling client engagements.
  • Direct and instruct staff interns and paraprofessionals, where applicable, in work to be performed.
  • Suggest client tax planning ideas to supervisors, managers, or partners.
  • Prepare advanced tax returns and returns on dissolutions or liquidation.
  • Conduct performance feedback and training, and conduct job evaluations.
  • Foster an efficient, innovative, and team-oriented work environment.
Requirements:
  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in accounting, and/or an undergraduate or graduate degree with sufficient course work to achieve CPA certification upon passing the examination.
  • Either hold a current and valid CPA license (in good standing), or be working toward obtaining the license by taking and passing the applicable state CPA examination.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in public accounting firm, demonstrating a progression in complexity of tax work and knowledge.
  • Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office products - Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook & Tax software packages.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Dedication to teamwork and leadership.
  • Strong project management skills.
