Job Summary

COLSA is seeking a skilled Electromechanical Assembly Technician to join our team. As an Electromechanical Assembly Technician, you will be responsible for providing routine technical support in areas such as research, design, development, testing, installation, or manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide hardware support to systems, including testing, troubleshooting, and repairing.
  • Install and maintain mini-rack systems, including upgrades.
  • Assist in engineering testing and/or experimental testing.
  • Assemble small to large electromechanical assemblies, test and troubleshoot assemblies, and combine subassemblies into final assemblies, components, or apparatus.
  • Perform setup, calibration, testing, and trouble-shooting of components, assemblies, or final products.
  • Provide customer or technical support for hardware products, systems, or system software.
  • Assemble and test cables and cable assemblies.
  • Apply written standard procedures and working technical knowledge to the preventive or simple corrective maintenance of systems.
  • Perform setup, calibration, testing, and trouble-shooting of systems, components, assemblies, or final products.
  • Work from drawings, diagrams, rough sketches, or formal assembly procedures and process control documents to assemble quality components or final products.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • US Citizenship required; must be able to obtain and maintain DoD security clearance at the SECRET level.
  • Previous assembly experience.
  • Patient, reliable, and hard-working.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without an accommodation.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining quality.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of desktop applications, including word processing, spreadsheet, and database programs.
  • Two years of electronics training from technical trade school or military technical school or two years of computer training as applicable to the job.
  • Basic electronics training or experience.
  • Familiarity with multi-meters.
  • Soldering experience/certification a plus.
