We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Building Substitute Teacher to join our team at Erie 2-Chautauqua-Cattaraugus BOCES. As a Building Substitute Teacher, you will play a vital role in ensuring the continuity of education for our students by covering core classrooms and specials classes in the absence of the lead teacher.
Key Responsibilities- Cover core classrooms in the absence of the lead teacher, following established sub lesson plans with fidelity.
- Manage the classroom effectively, maintaining a positive and productive learning environment.
- Assist in lunch duty when not subbing, providing additional support to our students and staff.
- Perform other duties as required, contributing to the overall success of our school community.
- Strong classroom management skills, with the ability to establish clear expectations and maintain a positive learning environment.
- Flexibility, with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.
- Regular attendance from 7:45-3:45 p.m. daily, with a welcoming and warm disposition.
- A love of children and education, with a commitment to inspiring trust, confidence, and motivation in our students.
- Some knowledge of common core standards, with the ability to adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects.
- Proven ability to inspire trust, confidence, and motivation in students, with a commitment to establishing clear expectations and maintaining a positive learning environment.
- Experience in an urban setting, with a deep understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities that come with teaching in an urban environment.
