NICU Per Diem Registered Nurse

The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care of patients.
The staff RN utilizes the nursing process by using technology, therapeutic intervention, evidence-based practice, and coordination of care with other health team members.

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team in the NICU department.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nursing and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
The RN will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, collaborating with the healthcare team, and maintaining accurate records.

Shift Details:
Minimum of 3 days and 2 nights in 6 weeks; however, may be variable to meet the needs of the unit schedule.
72 hours in a 6-week schedule, 24 hours is a weekend or night shift.
Must work one summer and one winter holiday, determined by each individual department.
On-call requirements, determined by each individual department.
Location:St. Vincent Healthcare, Billings, MT
Additional Details:Shift differentials given for evenings, nights, and weekends.

Minimum Qualifications:ASN/ADN or BSN from an accredited program
Ability to obtain BSN within four years of hire, unless you have a minimum of 15 years of proven, continuous, acute care RN experience.
Current RN license to practice nursing in the state of Montana.
Current BLS.
Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN). Education must be obtained from an accredited institution. Degree will be verified.
At least 1 year NICU RN experience.
Physical Requirements:Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergencies.
Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy.
This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.
Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients.
Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment.
Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment.
This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items.
Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc).
May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
